Default Puma Early Slant Heer Dagger

A Rare and early Puma model. Took many photos for reference on this particular dagger. Believe to be Circa 1935 and the first models Puma began to bring forth. Grip is a stunner slant type A in a pumpkin color. Hand engraved pommel leaves and details are just amazing to observe and photograph. Great detail on the scabbard band leaves and the small amazing acorns also hand enhanced and detailed. 2 screws on scabbard throat. The adler on the guard is hand tooled (a so called Höller type 2 guard enhancement). You can see this when comparing the later guard details with no handwork that were casted. Truly unique. As Ger says this one is rarer than hen’s teeth.

Love this one for many reasons as well as the blade being stone cold mint. One that will remain with me for years to come. I am grateful to have this one to add to my collection. I was invited to WRF 10 years ago by Ger. This one is a nice personal addition for me. I am grateful to have it from him with the book he and Danny put together as well. Thanks, Ger, for getting this one into my hands.

Here is a link to another thread where Kevin - heers68 has located 3 others of this particular early initial production Pumas.

Great handwork on that Puma, looking at the acorn of the scabbardbands, lovely, and the pommel is a piece of art.
So far i think the Generic type 1 is the earliest one, but this one and the Hörster type 1 based variations are all produced within a very small timeframe, maybe even at the same time, as demands rose quickly these days and Puma bought what was available in the early days of production.

You have a gem there, lovely handwork, a great guard and a gorgeous blade!
It was my pleasure helping you out with this dagger.

A very nice acquisition and addition to an already perfect collection as seen on your website .
    This will truly fit.
The hand enhancements are a work of art on the pommel which is very attractive.
The set of hangers you chose to go with this dagger is a choice I would of made between the 2 that you showed me...this also fits very well with the character of this Edged Weapon type.

    Congrats Bro

Thank you, my blade loving brothers. Dress daggers and edged pieces from the 3rd Reich are certainly something to study. You learn a little more and gain new insight each time you observe them.
