American Legion souvenir helmet, looking for info

I recently ended up in possession of this souvenir helmet from the 1939 American Legion convention in Chicago. I've been researching into it, and have managed to find a bit of info on the convention itself, but have had no such luck with the helmet. I was able to find some similar helmets for the Sons Of The American Legion that seem to be the same type (smaller helmet, clearly not a military one), but I've had no such luck with finding anything on this specific helmet.

If anyone happens to have any information on this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm particularly looking for a link to a source on these, but I'll gladly take any information y'all have, as I'd love to set this mystery to rest.
