To pick up an earlier question on post war use of the MkII helmet. In New Zealand the MkII was used into the mid 1950's. In the 1970's I bought a NZ Army refurbished helmet (a wartime NZP) which the Army had never issued post war. They sold off a batch of these helmets to a surplus store in the '70's. The liner is dated 1955. I don't think the "turtle" helmet was ever used by NZ forces. And the US M1 helmet was adopted from the early 1960's and used to the 1980's, as the defence partnership swung away from mother Britain.
