This is quite a rare helmet. It is marked to the London Home Guard "S" Zone.
`S` zone ran from Hamstead to Elstree.
This helmet was found in a loft.
Cheers, Ade.

I thought that I would bring this old thread back up as we have much more interest in British lids now.
Since I published these pics back in 2008, I have seen one fake helmet painted up like mine for sale at Beltring.......
Cheers, Ade.

Whatever its just an opinion.
I've seen one like this a few years ago, this is one hell of a rare one Is the insignia just on 1 side?
Thanks Guys, yes the insignia is just on the one side.
There are no visible marks to the shell or liner.
Cheers, Ade.

The shell might be made by F&L which would be stamped at the rear or front on the inside brim.

Thanks guys.
I double checked the rim under a magnifying glass and no makers marks show.

It's a good thing you bumped this one Ade.
