    Hello, another piece saved
    This Tommy's helmet has had several coats of paint.
    The first is army brown, then it was painted black for civilian use during the war, including the letters M - messenger. After the war it was given an ugly white base coat and the kids probably painted green on that. It was a chore to remove but it was done and it has its original wartime look again
