Canadian MKII Sand/Concrete Texture

Article about: Picked up this absolute stunner of a MKII yesterday! 1941 CL/C which retains most of it's rough sand/concrete texture. Does anyone know the story behind these? Factory done or in the field?

Picked up this absolute stunner of a MKII yesterday! 1941 CL/C which retains most of it's rough sand/concrete texture. Does anyone know the story behind these? Factory done or in the field? It's hard to find concrete info, pun intended haha. Hope you enjoy it!

From a quick read over World War Helmets I believe with Canadian Helmets that these were field done and factory done in the same paint as the interior. Mark K is better versed with Canadian MKII helmets.

Thanks so much Matt! Great name by the way This is the first time I've seen the World War Helmets site- not sure how it has eluded me. Thank you for that resource! Curious what others think of it as well including Mark K.
