I picked up an early British MKII helmet today, but I am struggling to identify the maker as the markings are very faint.
Because it's one of the very first MKII's and from the shape and bolting of the chinstrap lugs I am assuming it is a HBH MKII shell (and not a refurbished MKI).

But I would much appreciate if some of the experts out there could help me out.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    /Jesper

Hi Jesper, can you take a photograph of the rim joint? According to World War Helmets the manufacturer were constant with their welding, chances that they may be identified that way. I'm not expert far from it but curious, what is left of the liner is a MK I one? Here is the link to WWH if you want to have a look.
In French but with great photos:

    Hi Jack,

I will take a picture of the rim joint tomorrow when the light is better.
No, the liner is the first MK II type from late 1930's (reminding a bit of the South African MK II liner)
