Article about: Won this for \\$11.25 total with shipping \\$20, below are pics and was told that the liner was British but not 100% sure, it's not a vmc liner or Dutch liner, only thing I can see was a 56 in s

56 for the size will not be British, so is more than likely a Dutch Mk2 liner.

The colour of the paint is typical of post war Dutch repaints and as already mentioned metric size liner also sounds post war continental so also probably dutch.

I have to agree with the gentlemen above. This is a reissued ww2 lid for the civil defense (bescherming bevolking) during the postwar. It has the typical grey glossy repaint and a dutch liner.

Its not gray its olive green and most dutch helmets has a brown liner not black could it be another country

I'm sorry buddy it is what it is.
The Dutch started producing their own shells from the fifties but also reissued ww2 shells.
