Mk2 RP/T

A not often seen RP/T, hedging my bets would be for repair party telephone.
Could be for transport, but I think an telephone engineer would be needed to repair broken lines & exchanges after bombing.
It has RP/T to front & back, all dated 1939 & made by BMB.

Hi mate, that is a rare lid! Could this possibly be a Repair Party helmet for Trams? I know not many city's have them now (unfortunately) but I would have thought the GPO would have repaired the phone lines? Nice helmet either way. Leon.
