    royal welsh fusiliers home guard for north wales area, nice helmet, I have seen one or two before but not common.

    Yep HG = Home Guard for sure (can't think of any other meaning). This one looks as if it has been in the shed where it was last hung up in 1945. Can't fake that look!

    @ Jerry. A quick look in my notes suggests this would be the 11th (Home Defence) Bn RWF. Am I correct?

    Mark, I have no insight other than it is rwf affiliated home guard which covers north Wales. I see no reason why any of the them couldn't wear this, but limited to a specific unit makes sense as otherwise I would expect to see more examples surviving, the hat said I have a Gloucester home guard marked example of which I have only seen the one example
