Strange Mark 2 Canadian helmet,,,,,any ideas.
Article about: Picked up this mark 2 helmet with a Viceroy liner size 7 1942 but the chinstrap lug rivets are odd. I cant find any manufacturers stamp in the shell , only a capital V. It is gloss paint one

I wonder if it's an Mk1*, refurbished WW1 helmets done late 30's. I know the British did this, Canadians?
The V could be for Vickers Ltd 1916-17.
Otherwise an reject WW2 issue Mk2.

Thanks Tinlid, I thought WW1 Shell also with a WW2 liner. I noticed no rim as well.

Sorry Tinlid, I meant that it probably was not a Mark 2 shell if it had no rim and more likely a Mark 1.

Hopefully someone will have some information about this one, interesting the way the rivets have been done on the chin strap lugs.
