Hello all. Long time lurker, finally decided to make an account since this helmet is giving me some trouble.

I'm having a bit of trouble properly identifying this MKII I got recently. It was labeled as a British WW2 MKII, but I just wanted to verify that. The manufacturer markings are almost completely ineligible. I think I can make out a 23 and a 43. That's about it. Is there a way to make the markings easier to read without damaging the paint?

The Liner is stamped as "N" LTD, which is S E Norris Ltd. It's being held in the helmet by what looks like a modern day screw and bolt.

Does the paint look correct for a war time issue MKII?

What about the net? I know there are a lot of aftermarket nets out there, so it's hard to tell.

    Would really appreciate any help

The liner looks like it's size 6 3/4 and dated 1942.

Hallo jonjon, the shell made by F&L Fisher & Ludlow Ltd. in 1943.
Liner how said Paul is 1942 and made by N Ltd , S E Norris Ltd, Llford.

I think that the helmet was repainted out and internal, I think that probably it is a post WW2 reuse.

    Ciao!!

Wow! How could you tell? There's no way I would have ever guessed there would be a "F&L" hidden under there.

    Thanks for the help, guys

Type and position of mark is tipically for F&L
