I’ve owned this helmet for a long time. As far as I can tell, looks mostly original to WWII. I haven’t been able to ID, the liner paint markings though. Any idea what they resemble?

I think the yellow band is armor training. The usmilitariaforum has discussed these. See link below:

Hey that’s wicked cool! Looks like it is likely original to the WWII period. Likely for armor training units. That’s wicked fascinating! Funny enough too, my helmet is posted on this exact thread. I got this helmet off eBay about 10-ish years ago. For only about $200.
I wonder if they are matched together (shell/liner)? Would training units have received the semi “outdated” fixed bail helmets. As them being, well, training units? I wonder?
