Hello gents,
I own a 1939 dated British WW2 MK2 helmet with in the rim the handpainted abbreviation: T.C.N. QCCS 304/1
Anyone any idea ???
My thoughts are a Casualty Clearing Station unit (fieldambulance ) ?
I would like to post some pics but I've no idea how to do so on this forum.
(anyone having a simple explanation ?)

there's instructions somewhere...but "go advanced" (bottom right) when you're replying to this, then click on the paperclip, then "Add Files", then "Choose File"...then find your pic in your files and select it (a mini-pic will appear in the box).....then click on "upload"....you're nearly there.....the select "insert in line"....and a load of gobble-di-gook will appear in a load of square brackets in your post.....(I hope that's right!)...and then just to check click on Preview Post (bottom right) before actually posting (which you'll need to do once you're happy!

Dunno why but I was kinda hoping there’d be more clues...... I’m no expert on military MkIIs (assuming it IS military).....in my experience I’ve not come across another application for CCS as you suggest....and “Q” is usually Queens or Queen.....but that’s the limit of my contribution.....
An expert will be along shortly........
