Unknown Hemet insignia

I googled this insignea on several occasions and can not find it.

Does anyone recognize it?

Post WWII Irish army unit, even though these come up all the time, I forget which unit it is.

I am not sure why you posted it in the German helmet section, though the Irish were technically neutral during the war.

It is a wartime British helmet supplied to army post war as surplus, though they were also supplied with British home front helmets during the war so it might be one of them. The design is still used today.

Where do you find the dates?

On one of the cross arms of the liner and near the chinstrap lugs which might also be dated.

There does appear to be a stamp near the strap but it is painted over.
