Here is a rather interesting photo I have seen make the rounds on the internet a few times over. I believe these are Canadian (not certain of that) soldiers post D-Day sometime, but one thing which always stands out to me is the interesting goggles the soldier on the left has on his MkIII helmet. To me, they look like German WW1 pilots goggles, but I can't confirm this, and if this is indeed true, it raises all sorts of interesting questions about how a WW2 Allied soldier got his hands on WW1 German pilots goggles.
Further to this, I have no knowledge of commonwealth issued goggles in WW2, so if anyone could fill the blanks here that would be great.
