Indeed that''s a South Alberta Regiment flash. It was an Armoured Recce Rgt. (29th Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment ) in the 4th Canadian Armoured Division, which is interesting, as by the time it was sent to the UK, its soldiers would have been issued Canadian-made helmets. Perhaps the occupant was transferred to the 29th Armoured Reconnaissance Regiment from a unit which had come over in 1940.
