WW2 M1 Helmet liner questions

Hello everyone,

Can you please help me with this helmet liner. I have a couple of questions:

The liner is marked CAPAC 3, can a manufacture date be determined by this?

Is the hardware considered blackened brass? It looks like it. but also looks raw metal too?

Capac didn’t produce liners after 1945 so yours will be war era. The nape strap will have a contract number on it hopefully.
