Hi,they are 8x57 Mauser,I was going to use .30 cal. but most pens are too fat for those.

I like it Zwerge. You ought to put some dark stain with a clear varnish on it to give it that finished look. I may copy your idea if you don't mind. Plus it would give me a good excuse to go out and shoot my K98, to get the brass. Although, in my old age, shooting the old 98 kicks the dickens out of me. Did you just glue the brass to the wood, or did you use screws? Jay

Hi,I drilled the flasholes out and put screws from the inside.
