Yesterday, the 15th March 2014, marked the 75th anniversary of the German occupation of the Czech lands. During a snowstorm, the German forces entered Prague and took control of the city and Czech territory - a grip that would last until the final moments of the great European conflict. Hitler made his one and only visit to Prague that day, signing the official creation of the Protektorat Böhmen und Mähren (Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) the following day.

5-7) Identification papers belonging to a Czech man who was deported to Auschwitz, before transfer to KZ-Mittelbau-Dora. He survived.
8) The reverse of a scarce packet note, sent to an inmate at KZ-Mittelbau-Dora. The contents list reads "Packet No.9, 58 apples, sent 27th October 1944"
9-10) Ink stamps used at the Bojkowitz district court.

11) SS-Obergruppenführer Karl Hermann Frank, moments before his execution in the courtyard of Pankrác prison, Prague.
12-13) Czech publications covered the death of Reinhard Heydrich, following his assassination in Prague.
14) Collection of various denominations of Protektorat Kronen, issued during the occupation. Note the Eine Krone example, which displays an early overstamp - these were circulated before the dual langauge notes were produced.
