The Stralsund Brewery was founded in 1827 and was the court's supplier of Baltic seaside resorts. Due to increasing demand, a new building was built in Greifswalder Chaussee, which was equipped with the latest technology, for example one of the first Linde refrigeration machines.

The factory survived the bombings of the Second World War. Stralsund remained on the territory of East Germany, so that post-war the company continued as a state-owned company in the 1950s. Outdated technology and poor supply situation for high-quality raw materials led to a decrease in quality and therefore the brewery experienced a qualitative and also economic decline.
