Hi guys,
Have any of you ever read 'Black Edelweiss' by Johann Voss? It is supposedly the memoir of a Reinhard Heydrich vet. The book covers fighting in Karelia mostly, but it includes his experiences in the Vosges as well.
Best regards,
Mo

I have read it, its a good read but there isnt much battle action in it ( which disappointed me a bit), its more the thoughts of the author towards National Socialism etc

Thanks for the reply,
Is it one of those "I'm sorry for being a Nazi etc. etc. blah blah" sort of books?
You got it !

I will have to take it into deeper consideration then... Do you know of any other good Waffen-SS or Wehrmacht memoirs?
The best I have read is 'An Infantryman in Stalingrad' by Adelbert Holl. It ends a little suddenly but up to that point is absolutely the best memiors on the subject I have read. 'Eastern Inferno' by Christine Alexander and Mason Kunze (the grandchildren of Hans Roth, the Panzer Jager on whose journals the book is written) is also highly recommended.
I quite enjoyed this one
