Chopper--
Great piece. IMO, it was for civilian wear, and most likely by a member of LHR1 or LHR2.

Thank you.

Hello Gents, I'm so glad to have found this thread. I just picked up an identical stickpin to the one discussed here and I have been looking for examples. I found one in the archives of a website but I still wasn't satisfied.
Now I feel secure that it's authentic after reading about it on this forum. It is a beautiful pin and quite small. Are there no other examples of skull pins, SS or otherwise ?
Here are pics of mine

I once had a Freikorps long shaft pin with a treaded pin, the skull was of a different style with longer crossed bones ( Jolly Roger Style) similar to the Traditional badge of the 17th Infantry, but not the same. It was stolen from me many years ago.
It was similar to the top one, slightly different details. Thanks for the images.
I thought I'd add these images to Greg's old thread about these tiny skull pins as a cross reference to my stickpin thread. It's on this thread where I first learned about the association with the Kav. 5 Reg. and I've managed to find a few since then.

Well done Dos! You have managed to find my favorite stickpin and the slightly larger traditions badge.
