    Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone might be willing to help me to find out more about these two German soldiers who where KIA on the Nordfront.

The photos are from are from a large untouched photoalbum I accuired today and might help me in my PhD research about a Second world War German Transition Camp in Hanko S. Finland 1942-1944.

Thank You so much Will, this really helps as it confirms my assumption that the owner of the photo album served in this same unit and arrived in Hanko Finland in February 1942 after a very dramatic sea journey.

The troop carriers including S/s Hindenburg got stuck in the ice off Hanko and the Gebirgsjäger, horses and war materiel had to be unloaded on the ice (unique picture from the photo album below).

    Hi Jan.

My pleasure, I am happy to help.

It sounds like a very interesting photo album and the photo of the four soldiers on the ice is brilliant.

So, if I read rightly, one bled out from a hit to his head and arm and the other a grenade blast to the head!!!! ...... thank the Lord we live when we do.

Looks like a very interesting album. SS Hindenburg was lost to a mine 17.11.1942.
