Hauptmann Wolfgang Protho- Luftwaffe Pilot

Hi all. I am going through the records of a WW2 US Anti- Aircraft unit. In the historical data their "best shot" is recorded as being the shooting down of Hauptmann Wolfgang Protho and his ME 109 with "a 50 cal slug between the eyes". He was shot down on the 4th December 1944. Just wondering if anyone has any information regarding this pilot as I cannot find anything online. Cheers.

I haven't been able to find anything in the Kracker Archive, Volksbund Database or Officer Career Summaries.
