Hi
I’ve recently been able to purchase this camp outfit dated 1943.
Given the near mint quality of this camp uniform this screams reproduction.
Not one that I would pursue as authentic..
Just because one similar is in a museum this does not guarantee authenticity. There are many reproduction's that are in museums. Some of the better known museums will acknowledge that a reproduction is on exhibit whereas many other museums will not explain this to the public and they will go on with the charade so everyone presumes/assumes that the items they are viewing are authentic.
I would most assuredly pass on this...
Serial number and stamp included inside for what reason?? Just think for a moment the time it would take to stamp a different serial number into every prisoners coat/pants...Not practical and certainly not necessary given the circumstances of incarceration of the prisoners..
This was put in there to sell to an unsuspecting and possibly gullible individual...
CARL who is a moderator/member here and a Subject Matter Expert on the Holocaust will hopefully see this and will add his thoughts...
Best regards, stay safe
