What I find interesting is that when you think in terms of years, it is the equivalent of us buying something from the year 2000. Whilst I appreciate that it was a pivotal moment in history I can’t imagine there being a specialist auction for Iraqi war memorabilia/militaria at the moment.
This auction was obviously significant enough to record so it shows that there was a good degree of collectors back then, rather than people just buying the odd item as a curio.

    Truly interesting.
That is the question, really only 20 years after the end of the War and there was already so much interest. Who could travel back in time with a good wad of banknotes.....

An even more interesting clip. I wonder if any of the flags survive. As for the bust of Hitler, if I have used the inflation calculator right £500 is worth £21,222.20 today?!?!?!

£500 was the price of an average house in those days
