Hello, I am having difficulty deciphering the handwriting on the reverse of the photo postcard, so, my translation is at a halt, originally advertised as Arbeitsführer Kienzl / Kinzl, after research on a related subject, I believe it could be Arbeitsführer Künzel, I'm hoping the message penned on the reverse may hold some clues, any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for taking the time to read the thread, G

P.S., It looks as though he may have been retired at the time of his writing this..

Just happened to see this thread. Glenn, you are mostly right. Yet I read:

Zum frdl. (=freundlichen) Gedenken gewidmet. The name, for me, reads: Herzl.

HPL2005 would have been my authrity for Kurrentschrift, unfortunately he chose to leave.

The name can't begin with a "K" - if we have a look at the word "Kamerad" we can see the Kurrent "K". Neither is there an "ü" in the name! (Ü would have the two dots above the "U"!) In my opinion it is an "H", see the chart below:

    Hi G.

I am not sure about the first letter in the signature, it looks like a five letter surname. Signatures can be very different to the way a person writes normally, but I would read the rest as -

    ? ERZL.

    Kind regards,

    Will.
