    Hi Militor.

    There are over 1000 Casualty cards on Ancestry/fold3 for soldiers who fell in or near Voronezh. Are you looking for one soldier or a particular unit for example.

    Here is the information on the soldier.

    Name: Egon Jersch
    Birth date: 9 July 1922
    Birth Place: Gleiwitz
    Military Rank: Obschütze
    Military Unit: 8./Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 417
    Death date: 16 July 1942
    Death Place: Woronesh
    Egon Jersch has probably been transferred as an unknown soldier to the military cemetery Kursk - Besedino.

    Cause of death -
    Gefallen: Granatsplitter Kopf
    Killed in action: Shrapnel to the head

    Infanterie-Regiment 417 -
    Infanterie-Regiment 417
    Das Infanterie-/Grenadier-Regiment 417 des Heeres

    168. Infanterie-Division -
    168. Infanterie-Division

    Great that you are!
    I wonder if there are descriptions, biographies and photos of soldiers in book form? Is the Kursk Cemetery shown, is there any list of the buried?
