This morning, the BBC here in England have been replaying a large part of the wartime Prime Minister's iconic words to Parliament.
In August 1940 the Battle of Britain was well underway and who knows what might have happened had the outcome been different.
Here's a selction of pictures from those desperate few months. The one of Churchill smiling in a Dover air raid shelter is a particular favourite (as is the blackout wardens cartoon).
