Looks like a career soldier and a tough looking lad, no less. Reminds you of a movie star.

A 'man's man'. The kind of guy you'd like to have
    around in a tight spot.........!

Sorry to be posting on such an old thread. I recently found out that my mum was now Next of Kin for Ralph and that as two of the medals were marked as returned on the MIC that we would attempt to apply for them, we had an email back from the MOD stating that his War and Victory Medal will be reissued to us as they could confirm that they were not reclaimed.

A long time in the works,

These came in the post today from the Ministry of Defence. I'll let the photos do the talking for themselves.

Thanks to everyone for all the help on this.

    Kindest regards,
    Matt

That must be quite special and I am pleased for you. Amazing that they were able to issue brand new medals, after 100+ years. I would have thought these would have been out of stock by now.

Thanks again everyone, and thanks for the replies,

I believe they are out of stock of these, they said they'd have to order them in from a specialist supplier, it also states that the Ministry Of Defence here take them on a case by case basis now due to this.

These must be a heck of a lot rarer than period originals. I am sure you have thought to keep the correspondence with the MoD with the medals, as proof of provenance.
