RAF Mobile Signals Units

Hi all. I am searching for information on RAF Mobile Signals Units. Specifically 5844 MSU as I have come into possession of a map and other items belonging to one of the units members. The map is of particular interest as the places the chap went to have been listed and marked on it. It says he was at Kohima in April 1944 for example. Any information on what these units did or on the 5844 MSU in particular would be great. Many thanks.
