Unknown casings found can anyone identify?

Found these shell casing metal detecting in canada. I know they were made by dominion in 1942. Does anyone know what type of round this is or what gun it may have been shot from? the ruler is in centimetres

DM 42 would be US 30-06 rounds made by Des Moines ammo plant in Iowa USA.....Pete.

I found them on the property of an old dominion arsenal range in ontario where they built the lee enfield in ww2 i thought DM was the dominion arsenal head stamp i could be wrong tho. Also are 30-06 rounds 6.5cm tall? I have no idea ive never found these size rounds before.

30-06 rounds are known metrically as 7.62x63mm...Dominion rounds would be marked DA 42.....Pete.

Thanks pete that makes sense because i even found some 9mm made by Winchester repeating arms
In the same area so it seems American ammunition was common on this facility. Interesting.
