HJ Koppelschloss - M4/28, steel?
Hello all,
So I have this interesting HJ buckle, which I am fairly sure is a steel example, sold as 'cleaned' (i.e. restored, hence the great condition to the front), and as 'unmarked'. However, upon cleaning away the remains of glue from a sticker to the back, I discovered at faint RZM M4/28, for Paulmann & Crone, Lüdenscheid. However, from the makers list thread I see that this mark should be for a nickel/aluminium buckle, not steel. So either this is no good, or it's not in fact steel (see rust to the rear in photos).
All opinions/guidance appreciated!
Edit: very similar to this one - a good sign? HJ Buckle - M4/28
Nothing to see here...
Or is there? After cleaning (click to zoom):

Nice HJ buckle. Is the buckle magnetic like a steel buckle would be? Here is another interesting thread on Paulmann & Crone HJ buckles. Several different and interesting maker stamps from P&C. Post#5 has the stamping on the right corner like yours, but is KH.
Just curious, does the belt have any stampings/markings?
Early P&C multiple stamps

Weller, I attach photos of the belt markings. It's actually a DJ belt.
