A very early DJ buckle with separate sigrune soldered via a split pin. I suspect most likely around late 1928, when the DJ was formed, through 1929. By then, dies will have been formed to stamp out production buckles.
Nickle box is 47 mm x 63 mm.
It was posted in War Relics that this “split pin way of attaching an emblem to a box, was selectively employed by St. & L in the 1920"s and early 1930"s.”
