30£ is a nice price but if it was me i'd try to get a better looking one, Hitlerjugend buckles are really common and you can get a really nice one for 100€ or less, JMO. But it's your money, your decision.

Good advice here as this simply worthless remnant of a HJ buckle, deserves to be placed in a rubbish bin without ceremony and forgotten for ever.

A common and yet fascinating buckle and as others have said, better examples are so easy to secure and in relative terms, are inexpensive. A rewarding genre of buckles to follow and specialise in by the way.

Very used but this could be an entry level buckle for a youngster just starting collecting and does not have a huge bank account..

And I fully understand the adage "Quality over quantity"...

I would focus on the back side and the RZM/LDO numbers.. as a collecting point..

    Just my thoughts though..

    Best regards, stay safe

I’d respectfully echo Smitty’s words here. While not a stellar example, the buckle is well priced for its condition and would serve as a respectable stopgap that could be upgraded at a later date. I’m sure we all have items like this in our collections, remnants of our formative days in the hobby.

Well-worn items like this tell their own stories, and they are just as worthy of being preserved as minty examples with their RZM tags intact.

    Regards, B.B.

To me, it would be worth the price. As long as it isn’t torn apart, rusted, or flattened, the wear wouldn’t be a problem to me.

I would probably remove the bar if it is really broken and completely loose, and keep the buckle as a nice example of a worn HJ buckle that survived hell.

    Kind regards
