Many thanks for this research. Very interesting found. Very kind of you Willmore!
I didn't noticed but pages 33 and 34 of his wehrpass are missing...
I am happy to help!
Here is some information on Infanterie Regiment 37 -
Infanterieregiment 37 - Lexikon der Wehrmacht

It's very nice, thank you! The page was carefully removed. By the family can be?
- - ------- - -
maybe something about his brother, Rolf Dieter Budde?
It is possible that the family removed it, but another possibility is that the soldiers unit removed the page.
The Wehrpass was kept by the soldiers unit until he was transferred somewhere else or died. If he died the Wehrpass was normally sent to his family, so maybe the clerk of his unit removed the pages so his family didn’t know how he died.
Do you have a date of birth for his brother?
That letter says that his Wehrpass has been returned to his mother, by the district command, so maybe they removed the pages. It says how he was brave and role model as a soldier and how this should be proud condolence to his mother.
He was promoted to Leutnant der Reserve on 1.12.1941, (as seen on page 23 of the Wehrpass) and is dated 31 October 1942. Maybe this promotion was given posthumously, as sometimes was done with awards.
.....
As for Rolf Dieter Budde
Depending on the date of the letter, he was with one of these Luftwaffe units -
33453
(Mobilmachung-1.1.1940) Luftwaffen-Bau-Kompanie 25/XVII,
(2.1.1940-27.4.1940) gestrichen,
(28.2.1941-29.7.1941) 9. Kompanie Luftnachrichten-Regiment 5,
(25.11.1944-Kriegsende) 4.12.1944 3. Kompanie
Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 355.
Luftwaffen-Bau-Kompanie are construction/building units.
Luftwaffen-Bau-Bataillon
Luftnachrichten units were involved in signals/communications.
Luftnachrichten-Regiment 5
Luftnachrichten-Regiment 5
Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 355
Asisbiz history section Luftwaffe Unit Luftnachrichten-Abteilung 355
There are two entries on the Volksbund for Rolf Budde, but neither were born in the same places as Hans, so I don’t think either would be his brother.
