just saw this thread,
just my tuppence worth but the majority of clothes worn in the second world war should have worn sleeves, the buttons should also be worn, unless this was parade ground issue (( not likely due to the belt area which appears worn, I would say that a thorough examination of the garment for dead lice /fleas would show whether it was in use in combat areas, they leave evidence of the nits, eggs within the threads of the garment (, if left at home in a cupboard, surprised that there are no moth holes, are there any small repairs? It's a nice item but I'm not sure it's genuine. But Im not a tailor somaybe someone else can help. thanks for posting.
