    Hello all,

Needing some expert help here. These were listed and removed many times from eBay yesterday. in the short time the photos were up for review I thought the 1939 one looked pretty legit, and snapped them up. Now with more time I'm noticing what I think are MAJOR red flags. Mostly the catches on the back, not to mention the horrible paint job on the 1944... Looking to confirm my fears in time to break the sellers heart before he ships them. Sometimes I just get caught up in the frenzy and act like a total green horn... I loathe eBay for that reason. Thanks in advance everyone!

    I agree, both are fakes.
An original 1944 was posted recently.
    Gausieger 1944 coppy or original?

And here is an original 1939 by Hermann Aurich, Brehmer did not make the 1939 issue.

Hi Ralph, Thanks for the quick confirmation. As soon as I looked at two real badges on here I knew they were fake. Had to get rid of that last glimmer of "maybe there's a weird variation I don't know about" hope... time to break the news.

And that's the end of that. Seller refunded the purchase with no trouble and was glad to know they weren't genuine. They were part of an estate he was parting out. This forum has already saved me so much trouble, not to mention money, that I hope someday I'll be able to pay it back.
