This was a gift from my grandfather who collected old guns and WW2 iteams. The wooden on the back of the handle is new. I have searched and searched for this knife on the web and cant not find anything. Any info would be great

Looks like it was made from some Post War pieces (scabbard-Made In Germany) blade looks to be from a fighting knife , not HJ
This knife originally was a private purchased WWI-era trench-knife.
Do you see the letter´s C.E. beneath the squirrels?
If not, the trademark on your knife was used till January 20th of 1921.
The scabbard belongs to the knife but IMO the hanger was added a long time later, than this knife was manufactured !
Also the grip-plates IMO aren´t "war time-made".
In my eyes this is a destroyed knife, nothing more, but I also might be wrong ...
For comparison here´s an Eick, it´s a part of my collection:
Thanks for all your guys help guys. Would u say the butt of the knife is also a different piece from the blade? The butt does not have that eagle head shape its round. Also is the HJ pin in the wood handle authentic?
Pommel and crossguard look like HJ, emblem may be a real members badge glued in place
The leather frog is probably a police frog destined for a long police bayonet.best regards,Andy
