Photographing any edged weapons is a "House of Cards" where the right balance of light will make all the difference in the world to bring attention to detail. Fortunately Mac66 can see through walls.
For future photo posting,.. indirect lighting or an over cast day out side would make for the best results.Best Regards Larry

Thanks for the advice Larry. I am amongst the converted. Unfortunately I am dealing with people who are in a hurry and just shoot anything and assume it is good enough. Attention to detail is never very high on their list of priorities. It just makes authenticating items a lot more difficult, but maybe that is their aim!
