Got this knife from my Grandpa is it WW2 related?

Hi all,

A few years ago my grandpa died, and he gave us this knife. As he told us, he found this knife near a dead WW2 german soldier in his village in the North of The Netherlands (city called Burum).
One thing i know is that he re-attached the leather parts and made it him selfes (he was a shoemaker by profession so he was very handy)

Does any of you guys have a little bit more info about this knife? Is it really WW2 related? Is it possible that a German soldier was wearing this as a weapon? I read on a different forum that wealthy men in those days could also buy such knifes from there local grocery store.

It looks like a HJ - knife to me, it has the same shapes.

Dont know if thats a true story..

It bears some stylistic similarity to the HJ knife, but it is not an HJ knife. I suspect it is actually post WW2 made. The good news is it probably is Solingen made, the sleeping Lion logo is associated with the Carl Lutters company, also called Lowenwerke, but the "Monarch" mark places it firmly into the post war period, probably 1950's.

Maybe my Grandpa bought it as a reminder for his own soldier days in Indonesia as a Dutch Soldier. I dont know for sure, because he lost his memory in the last years of his life. Thanks anyway for the info

This is a Lütters logo IMO.

In this form, with a monarch inscription, I have not yet seen an HJ knife.
The scabbard looks HJ. with missing dyeing and leather.

Post war German scout knives used a very similar pattern to the wartime HJ type. The field made grips are a nice touch. A knife with a history your Grandfather made. Maybe not TR, but historic all the same.
