H.J. Fahrtenmesser by Robert Klaas
A friend today showed me this H.J. Fahrtenmesser by Robert Klaas and as some of the forum know, daggers and knifes are totally outside my scope of collecting and knowledge.
The knife is in a somewhat tired and distressed condition.
I have no idea if the combination of markings to the ricasso are unusual or not and also, if there is anything worthy of comment in relation to the remarkably intact grip set H.J. emblem.
Here are a few images for reference, just in case.
Regards,
David

David,
This is a transitional period KLAAS Hj knife in very salty condition, diamond insignia & griplates are in very good condition as you mentioned, blade has lost its leather buffer washer, most likely rotted away & fell off through time.

Dear Mac
Thankyou for your response and for the sound information provided. I just wanted to check if the combination of markings were known and obviously, they are. Amazed though that such a "tired" knife has still, good condition grips and a brilliant condition HJ emblem.
Thanks again.
Regards,
David
