all parts look to be originals except the diamond insignia which is fake unfortunately, that alone would make me walk away!!
the rounded parts where the swastika crosses over aswell as the dark look to the enamel is the give away!
p.s, this is the Hitler Jugend militaria sub forum and there is also a different sub forum for the hj messer where you will get more answers!

The diamond may be correct but, the knife is a post war item. You can tell by the way the opening for the diamond is cut. It fits the cross hatching pattern correctly. On an original, the opening does not fit the cross hatching pattern properly. This diamond does not fit the opening made for it. Kind of difficult to explain.
Ralph.
Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Everything looks original except the grip plates and the diamond.
Thanks for the info guys.
Panzer Trooper..I moved your thread to the HJ dagger forum,,..when you get a chance..peruse through the many threads and also the sticky thread at the top of the HJ forum dedicated mostly to the grip plates and HJ diamond. Regards Larry

I think Ralph is spot on
Original scabbard but the knife is post war.
Always look for wear on places where it should be, for instance: the snap area on the hilt.
This one has none, while the strap of the scabbard is gone.....so you can tell no matching pare.
The diamond area is like Ralph stated, the postwar grips symmetry doesnt fit the wartime diamond.
Cheers,
Ger
with all due respect Gerrit, that diamond in this knife is NOT wartime original!
just look how dark the red enamels are on it not very transparent, aswell as the inner points in the swastika is rounded when the should be nice and square!
bests
You have a point there Ewan
I didnt blew it up that big, your right the enamel isnt looking good.
at least it shape is good..uhhm
Thx for pointing it out!
Ger
