I am no specialist on HJ knives. RZM M7/87 is Malsch & Am Bronn. I don’t know why Malsch is not mentioned here, just Am Bronn.

If you do a search on M7 87 you will find a few examples with the same Am Bronn marking, including in the archive of Lakeside Trader. It seems quite rare and I think it is original, though well used.

This knife appears correct having a large diamond and the Ambron logo and RZM number are correct as well.
Scabbard is early having 2 runners and the belt loop and snap appears to be brown in color...but very faded.

I see no issues with it except the blade has been over sharpened.
Anderson and the HJ Gents will be along shortly.

All looks good. Not a maker I've seen before on an HJ, likely very low volume producer. Pity someone had overdone the blade sharpening.

Hello. Here is an opinion from me. The information I found in my reference book is that the knife is correct and is from a transitional period. The special thing is that the grip rivets must be steel. It has the characteristic marking on the leather part of the scabbard. I don't know why the rivet on the leather part of the scabbard was replaced and moved from the correct place?

    Regards Georgi.

    Just seeing this now....

@ Anderson...is this anything to be concerned about since this is a very obscure producer ?
Im seeing a blank spot on the reverse side of the grip plate and the rivet sits about the 8 oclock position.

The back plate could have been replaced. But it's difficult to be sure. Could also have been a Monday morning error that missed QC. We know the HJ boys threw these knifes around and grip plates cracked and bits broke off. This could be a TR era repair or post war or as it was at purchase. There's quite a bit of wear to the rear grip plate that suggests it has been on the knife some time and used.
By the way the scabbard matches the example posted by Kilian at #6, note the distinctive domed 2 rivets for the leather hanger to scabbard.
