Re: My inherited german knife.
Welcome to the forum. My understanding on this style is that they were sold as souvenirs. I know Puma made some stag souvenirs. I look forward to what the other guys say.

Wher is Reibert?

Re: My inherited german knife.
German BoyScouts still use this style knife today, but with different grips...

Re: My inherited german knife.
There is a picture of a simulated stag horn HJ knife in the Johnsons book with the same rivet construction, but it also has a HJ logo with an added Italian motif

It has what looks like Solingen on the blade (hard to read), and if Reibert is not available, perhaps Mac 66 (Scott) as a specialist might be able to help. As for the stag griped knife on that dealer's website - it's another one of the postwar variants of the (so -called) "DJ"/"BDM" series of knives that comes up for discussion every once in a while. FP

Re: My inherited german knife.
Maybe postwar production of the HJ knife. I guess they thought it prudent to exchange the handle;-)
I have seen modern Solingen marked knives with black handles- exactly like a TR HJ knife but with a 'Fleur de Lis' instead of the HJ badge in the handle.

Re: My inherited german knife.
This Stag handled knife is a post war product from the 50s or 60s imo,
The Scabbard looks like a genuine period hj knife type but it might have "Made in Germany" stamped on the backside ?
Common Boy Scout knife made for the masses imo, nothing to do with the hj.
Regards Mac 66.

Interesting. The Scabbard is only black, cant find any stamp on it. There is a snap button which has STOCKO on it though.
