Re: My New Hitler Jugend Knife, RZM M7/51/41!
Not too bad, Adam !
it is missing the little leather 'washer' at the blade/crossguard junction.
You might be able to make one and stretch it over the blade.
These are getting more expensive lately and I don't think you did too badly at all.
Don't forget about the nice SA though ! !

Re: My New Hitler Jugend Knife, RZM M7/51/41!
Thanks for the replies, guys. Yeah, I think I'm gonna be happy with it. I keep seeing similar condition HJ knives going for almost $300 so I didn't want to pass it up. As these are rising in price I hopefully can get a good return on my money down the road when I want to upgrade. Steve, how would I go about making a leather washer/buffer and applying it to the blade? You mention stretching it over the blade but I'm not sure how you mean. I still have to take a look at that restoration thread as well...maybe there's some info there.
Thanks again for the comments!
Best,
Adam

Re: My New Hitler Jugend Knife, RZM M7/51/41!
Cut out a slim oval piece of thin leather and make a hole or slot in the center and slide it into position over the blade. You might have to try it a few times to get the size just right,
if it will work at all........ Leather has a bit of 'stretch' and a little 'memory', so it just might work.
Have a look at a few HJ knives to get an idea of what it should look like.
