    There's nothing to be gained in trying to "restore" this knife, it is what it is.

    Exactly my opinion.

    I so often hear that..... it's a rare maker etc. ......
    But keep 1 thing in mind: there goes nothing over quality!

    Quality sells and maintains and gains its value over time.
    Rare maker and bad condition does not gain the above...... your money is stuck and it will be hard to sell

    just an advice of a seasoned collector.......
