Looks like a nice, early variation HJ knife to me! ... it's not a deal breaker, but is there any movement (wiggle) in the diamond mounted on handle? (side-to-side?).

Nice early HJ knife, appears to have a blued scabbard which would fall into the 1935/36 period. Does the diamond wiggle? Looks like may be glued. It's been used for sure but a nice one.

I like it, the scabbard looks to have 2 runners? these early pieces, is it wrote in regulations that they are to have 1 runner?, have/had 3 early ones two have 1 runner, the early HJ Gierling has 2 runners, some have black or brown leather, some early ones posted here have black leather but don't show pics of runner, the 1933 booklet Die Uniform der HJ describes the dagger in high detail as mentioned by Mr. W. Saris, so just a thought if anybody knows for SURE, or if it is just parroting between collectors.

The knife itself is a nice early thinblade with imo a replaced scabbard, as Anderson stated these are mainly seen on 1936 produced ricasso knives.
I have owned quite a few early Wingen knives and seen dozens over the years and sofar they come with a brown leather strap and a single frontrunner.

we all know the pictures of boys throwing their knives in trees, for sure back at their tents there would be some maintenance and scabbards easily could be switched.

    Regards
    Ger
