Re: Imperial buckles?
They look like good ww1 steel 1915 to 1918 buckles missing fieldgrau paint one has traces of it. I would think OK might let some of the buckle experts weigh in. I have steel field grau model with same type of catch. timothy

Re: Imperial buckles?
Lenny, both are fine. Did you know there is a Imperial buckles thread?

Re: Imperial buckles?
Cheers guys, they came in cheap so was happy. I just wondered when I saw a break in the "rope" as it were.
Oops, sorry Ben, missed the imperial buckles forum, can you move this post?

Re: Imperial buckles?
Hi Lenny, nice original buckles. The break in the rope looks like a die fault to me. Could be damaged in use. A closer pic would help, Cheers, Richard.

I had missed that as it was sort of hidden away, the title of this forum is 1900-1945 so shouldn't the Imperial Buckle thread be in here, keep it all together? Just a thought...
You've got a point about the dates. But many of the Imperial buckles are pre 1900. Some back as far as 1847.
The thread should be left in the Imperial forum as it sits better there.
It may be a better idea to re date the WW2 Buckle Forum as from 1919 to 1945 so that it avoids the Imperial era,
Cheers,
Richard.
